Two thumbs down. Failing inspections for not having documentation on site which was already approved. These clowns have access to all the information on their computer. We wouldn't even be able to ask for a final inspection if there wasn't an approval on all documentation submitted. Furthermore the document that you insist to be on site is never signed by the inspector. I have to go back and prove to the customer that the final inspection has been done because your inspectors are too lazy to scratch their initials at the bottom of the document.

Purposefully have their phone number set up to not help you at all. Avoid talking to people. I'm literally just trying to figure out what time someone will be at my house for a final inspection on a new water heater and was told to call the building department for a more set time rather than having to sit in my house all day and wait around. Yet when you call the one option it gives you to press tells you it's an invalid response. Lack of communication lack of care and lack of customer service.

Believe it or not, this is the only building department in the state of Florida that doesn’t care about eligal contractors activities. In other words you can do as you please without a contractor’s license and the city doesn’t care. I went in person and even asked than about what happens if someone without a license performs contracting work, and their reply was I quote “ It Will Eventually Catch Up To Them “ What a joke. So now you know that you can pretty much do anything you want without a license and nothing will happen to you in Palm Bay, FL.

They do not have enough inspectors for the inspections they have this causes problems with contractors citizens and ultimately cost money to the citizens for things that need to be taken care of to mitigate a possible roof leak. When you try to set up a dryin inspection at 2:30 in the afternoon for the next day and it causes you to go all the way through the weekend to a Monday because they don't have enough inspectors that's a problem.
